Thank you Animal Print Magazine Readers for honoring me with "#1 Dog Trainer" in Readers' Choice 2007!

Through my business Best Behavior, LLC I offer assistance with any canine or feline behavior problem as well training for dogs. My philosophy is that training should be a fun and rewarding experience for everyone involved, especially the animal.

When dealing with behavior problems, I will tell you everything up front and will not hesitate to let you know when I think some serious decisions have to be made.  I have been in your shoes and I will treat you the way I would want to be treated: with respect, complete honesty, and I will provide you with every resource I have available to me. I will not hesitate to refer you to someone else if my schedule does not allow me to give enough time to address your issue. I am not here to hoard clients; I am here to help pets.

If you are frustrated with your pet, ready to find them a new home, have tried everything you can think of, or have been through several trainers, please contact me.  There may be other options or at the very least, it may be nice to hear that there is, in fact, nothing more that can be done.

I have successful experience with the following behavior problems and training issues:

Stranger Aggression      Animal Aggression

Owner-Directed Aggression     Resource Guarding

Fear Aggression     General Fearful/Anxious Behavior     Play Aggression

Separation Anxiety     Destructive Behavior

 House Soiling     Litter Box Problems

Leash Manners     Jumping     Mouthing     Coming When Called     Digging

...and many more.

Whether you decide to contact me or another professional, please be sure to check qualifications and be wary of any guarantees.  Like humans, animals are living creatures and their behavior can never be completely controlled, predicted, or understood.  A human counselor would not guarantee success; I do not guarantee it either.  I can help you manage or improve things, give advice, and assist with difficult decision making - but ultimately, your pet's behavior depends on you.  Failure to strictly follow treatment plans, inconstancies, rewarding incorrect behavior, failure to contact the professional you are working with as you progress, and failure to supervise are just some ways problem behaviors can be exacerbated.
